Position Summary:

The RN Risk Manager is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the risk management program, including the identification, evaluation, and treatment of risk in the organization along with medical record audits with data abstraction functions related to mortality, Physician Peer Review, Initial Investigative Reports, and special projects as assigned by the Director Quality/Risk, Performance Improvement (PI) team participation, development/preparation/completion of reports. Assists the Director of Quality and Safety and Manager of Accreditation/Regulatory Readiness and Patient Safety with the implementation of the System-wide Quality and Safety Plan consistent with board approved plans and regulatory and standard setting agencies. Will also develop and manage a systematic process to identify, assess, and treat actual and potential exposures to loss.

Requirements:

  • Licensed RN in the State of Arizona
  • Associates degree in nursing
  • A degree in Business, administration, economics, finance, or a related field
  • 2-5 years’ experience within a hospital risk management with a focus on patient safety, risk management or quality improvement.
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • 2 years experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 years of experience
  • MS or JD. Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM)

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Proficiency in risk management, financial analysis, and related software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
